Jackie Edwin Thomison Sr., known as Jack to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in a tent on the banks of the Colorado River in San Saba County, Texas, on June 8, 1933, Jack's life was as rich and fulfilling as the land he loved.
Jack's journey began in the open spaces of Texas, where the values of hard work and family roots took hold early in his life. It was these values that he carried with him to Round Rock, Texas, where he would eventually pass away.
Jack is preceded in death by his forever loving wife, Billie; brothers, Bill, Leland, Ronnie, and Donnie.
Jack's legacy is carried on by his sons, Jackie "Hoot" Thomison Jr. (Tammy), Grant Thomison, and Aaron Thomison Sr. (Brenda).
Jack's grandchildren: Jeremy Thomison (Julie), Angela Jones (Darnell), Jackie Thomison III (Misty), Jacob Thomison (Sherri), Lucas Thomison (Elisabeth), Jess Thomison (Trista), Billy Jean Finn, Terilyn Henderson (Blake), Aaron Lynn Thomison Jr. (Staci), and Will Thomison and his fiancée Beth Grimes. His great-grandchildren: Jeremy 2nd, Julianna, Emma, Ava, Jet, Scarlett, Morgan, Waylon, Lilly May, Edward "Junior," Benson, Ruby, Kayce Faye, Jack, Brady, and Levi-brought him immeasurable joy and were the recipients of his love and wisdom.
Jack a family man and a self-made entrepreneur who started a masonry business that not only employed many of his family members but also taught them the trade so they could flourish as he did. His business acumen extended to developing multiple properties, buying and selling ranches, and owning warehouse buildings and other income-producing properties. These ventures ensured that he and his family would be well provided for during his retirement.
An avid fisherman, Jack's love for catfishing was well-known among his friends and family. He often told them with stories of his fishing adventures, with humor and wisdom. His interests were diverse, from playing straight dominoes, shoot the moon, and 42, to buying and selling classic cars. He was a longtime supporter of the American Legion. Jack was also passionate about teaching his grandchildren the value of hard work, often showing them how to build and create with their own hands.
Jack built a legacy that will continue to thrive through his family and the many lives he touched. His was a life well-lived, full of passion, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
A visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 in Beck Funeral Home, Pflugerville from 5-7 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at Beck Funeral Home
Pflugerville, Texas.
Burial will follow at Hutto Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Billie.
