Jacob E. Abeltins

JACOB E. ABELTINS, born July 12, 1937 in Gulbene, Latvia and passed away January 10, 2025 in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Preceded in death by his devoted wife, Betty Ann (nee Millward) Abeltins. Survived by his loving daughters Karen (Douglas) McRowe and Gayle (Mark) Luker. Proud Papa to Ryan McRowe, Adam (Macy) McRowe, Austin Luker and Dylan Luker.
Jake was his grandchildren's biggest fan at football, lacrosse and rugby games. He was beyond happy to be able to see his youngest grandson, Dylan, win the Football State Championship with the Avon Eagles. He was thrilled Austin chose to be a Buckeye and attend the Ohio State University. Jake danced the night away this year when he got to attend the wedding of Adam and Macy. And as a proud veteran, he was was thrilled to see Ryan sworn into the United States Army.
Jake emigrated to the United States as a youth and resided in Pennsylvania and Iowa before finally settling in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from John Marshall High School and attended Kent State University. Jake had an extensive career in the pharmaceutical industry. He was a sales representative and design consultant with McKesson, the owner/operator of Southland Drug for more than twenty years, and he and his wife were entrepreneurs in multiple other local businesses.
A diehard fan of the Browns, Indians, Cavs and Buckeyes, Jake also loved fishing Lake Erie, his water aerobic classes, traveling, and his weekly poker game with his good friends at the Avon Senior Center
