Frederick H. "Harry" "Harry" McClelland

Frederick H. "Harry" McClelland, a beloved father, who left us on July 23, 2025, at the age of 95. Harry was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 20, 1930, and spent his life enriching the lives of those around him.

Harry was a graduate of Rocky River High School and went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Journalism from Kent State University. His career in the news media as a in Journalism sports writer for the Cleveland Press showcased his passion for storytelling and his love for sports. He later transitioned into advertising, where his creativity and insight flourished. Harry was a Veteran of the US Army and served during Korea

Beyond his professional achievements, Harry devoted 25 years to serving as the Secretary of the Union Metal Golf League, where he shared his love of golf and built lasting friendships. His appreciation for nature extended into his personal life, as he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and canning the fruits of his labor. Even in retirement, Harry continued to engage with the community by working in the Deli Department at Giant Eagle on Washington Square until his 90th birthday-a testament to his enduring spirit and zest for life.

On April12, 1958 Harry married Margaret J. Broadfoot who preceded him in death in 2023. Harry leaves behind his son, Craig McClelleand; daughter, Lisa Grubish; his grandchildren, Adam (Dana) Nicholson and Dylan (Allie Prusha) Grubish; and great grandchildren, Elliott Nicholson and Isla Nicholson. His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

In addition to his parents and wife, Margaret, Harry was precededin death by his son Robert McClelleand along with his 5 sisters and brother.

A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday,August 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Gary Smith officiating.
