Jacob Cammack

John Jacob Cammack, age 40, of Cottondale, Alabama, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, at UAB West. A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Little Sandy Baptist Church with Bro. Ken Myers officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Little Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery.
Jacob was preceded in death by his father John H Cammack Jr, grandparents John H Cammack Sr & wife Betty, grandmother Bennie G Ross, and grandparents Garvie E and Mary Frances Daniel
Survivors include his wife Carissa Cammack, precious dogs Marcie Maye & Delilah Jane Cammack, mom and stepfather Denise & Charlie McFerrin and in-laws Chris & Cyndi Beckham.
To know Jacob is to know the joy and positivity he had in any situation in life. Even though he is no longer with us, we will always have the laughter he gifted us in the everyday stories we remember him through.
Jacob worked in property maintenance for many years and was excellent at his work. If something needed fixing, you could count on Jacob to find a solution. He recently made a career change to start working at Ferguson Supply. In his short time there, he genuinely loved working with all of his coworkers. He was constantly telling stories of everyone having a good time every day at work.
In February 2022, he met Carissa. They quickly fell in love and were married one year after their first date on February 11, 2023. As many have said, they were made for each other. Jacob & Carissa were constantly laughing with and at each other. They made each other better people. Jacob & Carissa's favorite pastime was to visit family in Andalusia then go to the beach for as long as they could at a time. Okaloosa Island, Florida was their paradise, and he couldn't wait to go back. When they weren't planning their next beach trip, they were at home with their dogs Marcie & Delilah as well as all of the chickens & ducks that Jacob dearly loved. Jacob especially loved having a large shop to tinker in. He also loved the lake on their property and would frequently have picnics with Carissa and their dogs when he would also take some quiet time to fish.
Jacob absolutely loved life, but more than anything he loved Jesus. His final wishes in life were that everyone make sure they have a relationship with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
Pallbearers will be Josh Chandler, Jacob Chandler, Sam House, Michael Williams, Greg Williams, Chuck McFerrin.
Honorary pallbearers are current and former employees of East Edge Apartments and the property management family, current and former members of Little Sandy Baptist Church and Ferguson Supply Tuscaloosa.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Family Life Center at Little Sandy Baptist Church, in honor of John Jacob Cammack.
