She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Montgomery.
Robin leaves behind her husband, Jeff Nelson, of 43 years. Her mother, Lillian Montgomery. Three children: her daughter Jennifer (Ryan) Fuqua, sons Hunter Nelson and Forrest (Mary) Nelson. Sister, Karen (Bart) Lynn. Mother and Father-in-law, Skipper and Cookie Nelson. Four grandchildren: Avery and Brooks Fuqua, TJ and Caroline Nelson. Brother-in-law, Tony (Debbie) Nelson and sister-in-law, Mary Beth Nelson. Several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Jack.
Robin was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on February 12, 1963. As a child, she attended Unity Baptist Church. She graduated from West End Christian School in 1981. Robin and Jeff settled in the Gilgal Community, raising 3 children at Gilgal Baptist Church. Being a mother came easy to her. She always knew her children were a gift from God. She loved her trips to the beach. Planning everything on the Gatlinburg trips and always trying to make sure everyone had a good time. Robin and Jeff together have been teaching children’s church at Gilgal for over 25 years. She always puts others first. Never had a bad word for anyone. This she learned from Jesus. We already miss her, but we know we will one day see Robin again.
