Jacob Daniel Hoggatt, 19, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
He was born on November 14, 2005, in La Porte, IN, to Billy and Amber (Shoffner) Hoggatt.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Billy and Amber Hoggatt of South Bend; brother, Jayden Hoggatt of South Bend; grandmother, Lisa Spoon of South Bend; grandfather, Daniel Shoffner of La Porte; aunt, Jill (Rob) Rozinski of La Porte; wife, Kristina Smith of La Porte; mother-in-law, Melissa Jones of La Porte; uncle, Zachary Hunnicutt of Knox; great-uncle, Kevin Euler of La Porte; aunt, Emily Spoon of South Bend; friends, Caleb Christensen, Antonio Christensen, Landon Sobolewski, Xavier Sobolewski, and Izaya Hancock, all of La Porte; close friends, Chad (Kelsey) Houdek of La Porte; great-grandfather, Glen Shoffner of Lebanon, TN; godmother, Trisha (Brad) Novak of La Porte; uncle, Jeff (Kat) Bowlin of Kingsford Heights; friend, Jacob Mason of La Porte; sister-in-law, Haley Smith of La Porte; brothers-in-law, Franklin Rigsby and Bobby Smith, both of La Porte; cousins, Izzabellah Spoon of South Bend, Stephanie Rozinski of Las Vegas, NV, and Chance Bowlin of Kingsford Heights; as well as so, so, so many more friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill (Beverly) Hoggatt; great-grandparents, Ballard (Diane) Wireman and Kenny (Rose) Euler; aunt, Diane Euler; and his beloved dog, Argo.
Jacob enjoyed fishing, camping, swimming, being outdoors, campfires, and walking his dog, Argo. He most enjoyed hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family. Jacob would do any job or task to make money.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Dwight Wilborn officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Amber Hoggatt, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350.
