Jacob Malinchak Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, proud veteran, and dear friend, passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born on January 26, 1937, Jacob was raised in Frackville, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Frackville High School. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany for two years, where he manned a missile launcher during a critical period in the Cold War-service he remained proud of throughout his life.
After returning home, Jacob moved to Delaware County and worked at Boeing for more than 40 years before retiring.
In his younger years, Jacob enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time outdoors in the Pennsylvania woods and waters. He also had a joyful spirit and a deep appreciation for tradition-especially when it came to polka dancing. He never missed a chance to take the floor and would dance anywhere: the dance floor, the kitchen, or right in the middle of a family gathering, always with a big smile and boundless energy.
He loved food-whether enjoying it with family or preparing it himself-and took pride in making blynai, a family favorite that brought everyone together around the table. He was also known as the go-to guy for restaurant recommendations in the area, always ready to share his favorite spots. Jacob loved gardening, proudly tending to his vegetables and sharing them with others. A passionate sports fan, he cheered on the Eagles, Phillies, and Yankees, and was especially proud to be one of the founders of the Frackville Little League.
Jacob was well known and loved in his community, especially at the Buckingham Springs Club House, where he earned the affectionate nickname "the unofficial mayor" for his warm presence and easy connection with everyone he met. He enjoyed playing pool, cards, and bowling with friends, and loved traveling with his wife, Marylou, creating many cherished memories together.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Maryann Malinchak (née Berresford), with whom he shared many meaningful years. He is survived by his wife, Marylou Malinchak (née King); his children, Michael (Maureen) and Sandra; and his grandchildren: Amanda (Stephen), Allison, Matthew, Sarah, Robert, Gabriella, Katlyn, and Raeanne.
Those who knew Jacob will remember his quiet strength, humble nature, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved. He lived a life of integrity, generosity, and simple joys-and leaves behind a legacy that will continue through those he touched.
Family and friends are invited to Jacob's visitation on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 5:00pm until the start of his funeral service at 7:00pm at Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road)
