BURLEY – It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacob Thomas McBride, who departed this world far too soon at the age of 31 on July 25, 2025.
Born on August 27, 1993, Jacob lived a life full of purpose, devotion, heart, music, and humility. He was the embodiment of what it means to be a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Jacob, who never took these roles for granted, carried them with grace, strength, humor, and unconditional love.
Jacob was the proud, loyal, faithful, and devoted husband of Jan Kelly Behr, and the utterly loving devoted father of Ryker Kade McGuire, Jakobie Rae Dawn McGuire, Kylen Thomas McBride, and Rosalie Ann McBride. His family was the center of his universe, and he never let a day go by without showing them how deeply they were loved and cared for. Whether it was raucous playtime, dance recitals, little league events, bedtime stories, family meals or adventures, or simply being present-Jacob gave his whole heart to his children every single day, without exception.
He was the beloved son of Thomas Aaron and Donna Lee McBride, who raised him to be kind, compassionate, and, in the words of his mother, "to choose the right and remember who you are." As a brother to Caleb (Kallianna) McBride, Jacob was their hero, role model, and the person they held in the utmost regard until the very end. Jacob had a rare ability to light up a room and make everyone feel at home-quick with a joke, a helping hand, or his familiar aura of encouragement.
To his many friends, Jacob was a constant fixture in their lives. Whether in person or over a phone call, Jacob was always willing to lend an ear, share a memory, or celebrate a success. His loyalty ran deep, and his warmth was magnetic. Whether grilling in the backyard or just catching up over a cold one, Jacob always made you feel like you mattered.
Professionally, Jacob was respected and admired for his integrity, work ethic, and constant positive spirit. He gave his best in everything he did-not for recognition, but because it was simply who he was and what his father instilled in him from a young age.
Jacob's absence leaves an unfillable space in the lives of all who knew him. But his legacy-his laughter, his kindness, his unwavering love-will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Kelly Behr; children, Ryker Kade McGuire, Jakobie Rae Dawn McGuire, Kylen Thomas McBride, and Rosalie Ann McBride; parents, Thomas Aaron McBride and Donna Lee McBride; sister, Kallianna Valarie McBride; and countless friends and family-by blood or by choice (like his choice to support the Dallas Cowboys)-who cherished him deeply.
A celebration of Jacob's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday August 1, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley.
Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
A live webcast of the funeral service will be available and maintained at rasmussenwilson.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Jacob's honor to his children for their future education and well-being.
Though his time with us was far too short, Jacob Thomas McBride made this world a better, brighter place. He will be loved always, remembered adoringly, and missed beyond words.
