Jacob Daniel Owen, 41 passed away on Saturday the 26th of July with his family at his side. Jacob was born in Portland, Oregon on the 21st of May 1984. He lived for his first fourteen years in Canby, Oregon. He moved to Kooskia, Idaho in 1996 graduating eighth grade. He attended Grangeville High School until he was twenty-one years old. He has lived in Grangeville ever since.

Jacob was born with many health issues, but until recently was able to be somewhat mobile. He had been in a steady decline since 2023.

He touched many lives during his time here. He is survived by his parents Donald and Esther Owen of Grangeville. A brother Alex of Atlanta, Georgia. Sisters Amanda (Lake Oswego, Oregon) and Catharine (Grangeville, Idaho). He is survived by three nephews, one niece, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A service celebrating Jacob's life will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (403 Boulevard St. Grangeville, lD 83530). Visitation will start at Noon and a Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm. All family and friends are welcome to attend. Jacob will be buried privately at Prairie View Cemetery, Grangeville.

Condolences can be sent to Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville. The family has requested that donations can be made to Cornerstone Christian Learning Center in Grangeville or to St. Jude's/Ronald McDonalds Houses in his name. Jacob has always wanted the best care for children and the Ronald McDonalds house have had a direct impact on his life.
