Jacob Lane Thames, age 35, of Mer Rouge, LA, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024. Jacob will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends and the time spent with them. He loved his work as a carpenter and was an avid outdoorsman. Jacob had the biggest heart which was evident by the love he showed to others. He was a hard working man and his goal in life was to always make sure his family was loved and taken care of.
Jacob is survived by his wife of 18 years, Laura Rainbolt Thames, children, Emma Kate Thames, Alexander Lane Thames and Brennan Tate Thames, all of Mer Rouge; mother, Angela Thames of Mer Rouge, LA; his Meme, Sylvia Sweet and husband, Harvey of Monroe, LA; uncles, Nick Thames and wife, Mitsy of Austin, AR, Jack Thames of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Karrie Thames and fiancé, Casey of Bastrop, LA; Leah Thames of Monroe, LA; mother-in-law, Alice Rainbolt and husband, Doug of Bastrop, LA; brother-in-law, Jeremy Rainbolt and wife, Becky of Bastrop, LA; sister-in-law, Mandy Early and husband, Luke and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Stacey Lane Thames; grandparents, Freddie Thames, Harvey and Marolyn Williamson and uncle, Hap Williamson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brooks Johnson, Aaron Cason, Jeff Jester, Chris Wilson, Michael Lemons and Shannon Fatheree. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Amador, Doug Rainbolt and Bubba Johnson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, January 3, 2025, at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Kennedy and Bro. Jimbo Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Friday, January 3, from 12:30 PM until 2 PM, service time.
