Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie (Craig) Abrams died peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 5, 2025 at Advent Health Hospice Inpatient Unit in Altamonte Springs, Florida, at the age of 76, following a hard fought glioblastoma diagnosis. Jackie is survived by her daughter Elizabeth "Liz" Abrams and son-in-law Samuel "Sam" Santos; her daughter Katherine "Katy" Abrams, granddaughter Freya Lindh-Abrams, Katy's partner, Chris Mini, and Chris's daughter Kaylee Mini; her sister Wilmagene "Genie" (Tom Fusco) Maloney, sister-in-law Dolly Rector, and brother-in-law Jerry (Heather) Abrams; nieces Cindy (Gary) Loss, Kelly (Don) Budnovich, Susan Wagner, Patricia (Dave) Baer, Tami (Geno) Crognale, and nephew Ronald Craig (Annie Su) Johnson; grandnieces Helena Crossman, Jessica Budnovich, Hayley Johnson, and Lisa (Albert Luke Pike) Baer; grandnephews Tyler (Briana) Crossman, Jarred (Veronica Alyse) Budnovich, Dylan Johnson, Geno Crognale, Joey Crognale, and Patrick (Tonya) Baer; great grandniece Chelsey Meader, and great grandnephews Coen Crossman and Chance Meader. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Irene and William "Bill" Craig, her former husband, Alex Abrams, nephew Jerry Lou Abrams, and grandniece Dana Baer. She will also be greatly missed by numerous extended family.
Born on September 1st, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA, Jackie entered the world into the loving arms of Irene and Bill Craig, and her older sister Genie. She took after her dad, a Westinghouse engineer, and excelled at Math in school. Ultimately, Jackie earned a degree in the subject at Thiel College. While at Thiel she made lifelong friends in the Sigma Kappa sorority and was courted by Alex Abrams (spoiler alert: they get married).
After college, Jackie became a teacher and married Alex (told you so). They welcomed their first baby girl (Liz) in 1976. She was followed by a second baby girl (Katy) in 1978.
After moving around a bit with Alex's work they finally escaped the snow and cold and moved to Central Florida. It was here that she planted the seeds that would be her legacy. Jackie and Alex started a business together, Florida Marking Products (FMP), from their house in Casselberry, making signs, labels, and promotional materials. Eventually FMP became the largest marking products company in the Southeast. Jackie loved her family and made FMP into a true family business. Her sister, niece, daughters, and many of their friends all had stints at FMP over the years.
She loved her daughters, Liz and Katy, dearly. She was proud of all their accomplishments. Jackie loved nothing more than holding them close. No matter where they roamed, she was always ready to be with them. Anytime they moved to a new home, she showed up with mop and broom to help.
But there was one thing that brought her the greatest joy these past 7 years, her granddaughter, Freya. Freya and her Grammy shared many special moments including sleepovers, making strawberry shortcakes, crafts and art, cooking, playing with her beloved King Charles Cavalier, Maggie Mae, trips to the beach, and walks down Park Ave and Central Park for ice cream and tree climbing.
Jackie was not only beloved by her family, but also the larger community, in which she participated and spent time creating friendships and volunteering. She was a board member of the English Speaking Union (ESU), the University Club of Winter Park, and the local chapter of her sorority, Sigma Kappa. She patronized and supported the arts in Central Florida, including the Orlando Opera, the Orlando Philharmonic, and various local theater companies. She hosted many gatherings at her home, just off Park Avenue, and was always glad to welcome friends and family in to share a meal, celebrate a milestone, or support local arts in various ways. Many friends from these communities have shared sweet messages and memories with Liz and Katy of their time with Jackie over the years and of their time in her home or at events.
A memorial service and celebration of Jackie's life will be held at The University Club (841 N. Park Ave, Winter Park, FL) on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2PM.
