Jackie Anders, 88, passed away surrounded by family on September 29, 2024. Jackie was born on September 25, 1936 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Kenneth Dunham and Ruby (Trestor) Dunham. She married the love of her life, Harold “Andy” Anders, on August 24, 1957, and they were married for over 65 years until his passing in 2023.
Jackie was a graduate of Decatur Central High School and attended Indiana University. She worked as the administrative assistant for the Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court for many years. She was a faithful member of the West Newton United Methodist Church, enjoyed reading novels in her spare time, and loved traveling the world and country with Andy. Jackie’s grace and kindness left a profound impact on those she met, and her memory will be forever cherished by her loving family and friends. She will also be remembered for her delicious home-cooked meals and desserts!
She is survived by her daughter Kaye (Mike) Gaither; son Kraig (Robin) Anders; brother Kenneth (Debbie) Dunham Jr.; grandsons Jason (Chelsea) Gaither and Joshua (Cara) Gaither; and great grandchildren Rosie, Fiona, and Cameron Gaither.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jackie’s life on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at West Newton United Methodist Church – 6843 Mendenhall Road, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Visitation will be Noon to 1pm, with services beginning at 1pm. Pastor Anne Gatts will officiate, and burial will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
