James Rose Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Dec. 19, 2025.
James Kenneth "Ken" Rose, Jr., 70, Monrovia, passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2025. Ken was born in Cincinnati, on August 26, 1955, to the late James Kenneth Rose, Sr. and Anna Margaret (Bradford) Denney. He was united in marriage to Brenda (Larkins) Rose on April 27, 1973, and she survives.

Ken attended Princeton High School in Ohio and worked for 37 years for Linel, retiring in 2022, as a factory manager. Exceptionally talented and a perfectionist by nature, he was highly valuable in his field. He and his team were responsible for the cardinal at the J.W. Marriott in downtown Indianapolis and for the flames that stand in Bicentennial Park in downtown Mooresville. While his work ethic was second to none, Ken did find time to play pool and enjoyed working on cars. Aside from spending time with his family, his favorite pastime was riding his Harley-Davidson. He enjoyed the freedom that riding created and was content with just about anywhere the bike would take him. He and Brenda loved their rides to Madison, Indiana. Ken will be fondly remembered by his loving family, his many friends, and coworkers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ricky Rose and Carol Forsythe.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Brenda; sons, James Kenneth (Aerie) Rose III, Jesse (Nicole) Rose, and Joseph (Jami) Rose; sisters, Pam (Frank) Neece, Patty Ann Rose, and Brenda (Adam) Coleman; grandchildren, Cashlin (Brandon) Frye, Kaya (Luke) Bridge, Amelia (Jaxon) Crews, Alexis Rose, Isabella Rose, Noah Rose, Deacon Rose, Allie Rose, and Emma Rose; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Dakota.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 12 Noon until 2 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall. Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.
