Heaven just got a little louder.
Jacqueline Bartolett, healthcare worker, world-class crank caller, and the only woman in the family who could silence a room with a Mexican grito, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 23, 2025, after 63 years of spreading laughter, compassion, and slightly inappropriate jokes. She was born November 27,1961, in Dover Delaware to Phaon D. Bartolett Sr. and Margaret Bartolett. She graduated from John Jay High School in 1980 and SACMDA in 1992.
Jackie spent over 30 years in healthcare as a Medical Assistant. She was truly dedicated, hardworking, and full of heart. She had hands that healed, a laugh that filled rooms, and a mouth that never stopped. You knew you were in her presence if music suddenly played out of nowhere and someone started dancing in the grocery store aisle. She was the life of the party even when there wasn't a party. Jackie didn't just walk into a room; she announced herself. She loved crank calling her job, whistling at construction workers, and dancing on the front lawn like she was paid. She loved animals and people, deeply, loudly, and with zero filter. She leaves behind a world that's a little less colorful, a little less noisy, and a lot less fun without her. But her spirit lives on in every unexpected phone call and every spontaneous dance break.
She is survived by her sister Ann P. Bartolett-Gonzalez and brother-in-law Jesse Gonzalez, brother Phaon D. Bartolett Jr., sister Marena Padilla, niece Jessica Bartolett, nephew Jesse Gonzalez and wife Catherine Gonzalez, and two great-nieces that she adored Ava and Emma Gonzalez. She also lives behind her aunt Delia Cox, as well as numerous cousins spread across Ireland, Scotland and London. Her beloved dogs, Rocky and Jewel, were her constant companions and brought her immense joy and comfort.
In her honor, please do a little dance when no one's watching or when everyone is, crank call your workplace, and never, ever underestimate the power of a well-timed "grito" because if you've got one in you, let it out!

Jackie and I were roommates at the rehab center we were at. We shared food, laughter, memories and shed a few tears. I was privileged to be at her side when they rushed her to the ER. I now look at the empty bed next to me and sigh. When you're in the same room for 4 months 24/7, you get to know the real you. I miss her, but I can only imagine what it's like for her family. Ann and family, my husband Jerald and I give our deepest condolences.
