Jackie's life was a celebration of family, love, and tradition. She was the heart of every home-cooked meal, ensuring that no birthday passed without a lovingly prepared dinner and a homemade cake decorated to perfection. When her children grew up, she welcomed them back with open arms and warm Sunday dinners, filling her home with laughter, stories, and love. Holidays were a true feast in her home, where no guest ever left hungry or empty-handed.
She was the embodiment of beauty-inside and out. With a remarkable singing voice, a quick wit, and an effortless charm, Jackie had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen and valued. People were drawn to her kindness, her humor, and her sharp mind, instantly respecting and loving her.
Jackie was incredibly selfless, always putting her family's needs before her own. She worked at Point Park University, the University of Pittsburgh, securing scholarships to ensure her children could pursue their dreams without the burden of overwhelming debt. Often, this meant taking multiple buses and T rides to get to work, but she did it all without complaint-because that's who she was.
Also, she held roles at banks, insurance companies, a flower shop, and a religious publication company, where she was known for her impeccable organization and typing skills and unwavering work ethic. A woman of endless energy, Jackie was always in motion- effortlessly blending contemporary sophistication with a steadfast, old-world devotion to family.
Her spirit lives in her children and grandchildren, in every meal shared, every story told, and every moment of love. Though we miss her terribly, we take comfort in knowing that she fought until the very end-only letting go when her children asked her to, with the peaceful realization that she would soon be reunited with her beloved John.
Her memory, her warmth, and her fiery spirit will never be forgotten. We love you, Mom. We will carry your love with us always.
Jackie's generosity and empathy knew no borders. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh (https://www.ccpgh.org/ways-to-give/donate) or the Parkinson's Foundation of Western Pennsylvania (https://pfwpa.org/donate/).
