Jacqueline Knowles Hammonds

Jacqueline "Jackie" Knowles, was born December 31, 1962, in Houston, Texas, the youngest of four children born to Joseph and Ethel Knowles.
Jackie attended John G. Osborne Elementary School, Fonville Middle School, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1981. After completing her education, she joined the workforce, beginning her career at Sears Department Store. In 1985, she started her dedicated service with the United States Postal Service, where she worked until her well-earned retirement in April 2023.
At an early age, Jackie gave her life to Christ at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith remained an integral part of her life as she later worshipped with Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and, most recently, she joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and was a member until her death.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Knowles; sister, Linda McCowan; brothers, Kenneth and Karl Knowles; and her beloved aunts, Dorothy Knowles, Annie Wesley, Janet Knowles, Lelia Calhoun, and Louberta Knowles-Williams (Jim).
She is survived by her loving children, Jocelyn Knowles and Jaylyn Hammonds; her devoted mother, Ethel Knowles; her aunt, Loyce Knowles-Kelly; and uncle, Langston Knowles. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Kayla Knowles, Kenneth Knowles, Karlton Knowles (Kenithra), Kellen Knowles, and Marcus Knowles; as well as extended family and friends who will deeply miss her warmth, humor, and unwavering love.
Jackie will always be remembered as a woman of grace, strength, and faith, whose kindness and love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
