WATERBURY - Mrs. Jacqueline Elizabeth Brown Johnson "Grams" age 88, of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the Vitas Inpatient Unit of St Mary's Hospital.

Jacqueline was born on July 17, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Russell and Ethel (Mason) Brown. She was educated in Pennsylvania and was employed for many years at Unysis and Regal Care, where she retired. Jacqueline was known for her kind heart, generosity, and deep love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in reading and crocheting. She could often be found making blankets for family and friends. If you knew her, chances are you were blessed with one of her handmade blankets, a true symbol of her warmth, style, and care.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memories are her devoted children: Noreen Sinclair (Kenneth), Dawn Johnson, Anita Piland, Lorna Johnson (whom she resided with), and Norman Johnson Jr. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Dr. Keneisha Sinclair-McBride (JonPaul), Christopher Borrelli, Thomas Piland III, Raymond Borrelli (Sarah), Kenneth Sinclair II (Amber), Jordan Bond, Justin Piland, Shantell Blash, and Chynnia Piland. She was a proud great-grandmother and adored her time with Amarah, Jeremiah, Kingsley, Raymond, Layla, Cassius, Fiona, Thomas IV, Christopher, Levi, Grace, Jamir, Kobe, Lance, Reid, Amoraa, and D'Angelo. She leaves behind a host of other relatives and dear friends to treasure her memory. Jacqueline is also survived by her siblings: Freda Padgett, Leonard Brown (Adrienne), and Phillip Brown (Joyce), all of Waterbury, CT; Lorraine Silva of Wallingford, CT; Richard Brown (Ola) of North Carolina; and Rose Olive of New Jersey. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Johnson Sr.; her parents, Russell and Ethel Mason Brown; sisters, Eleanor Brown Gatling and Marilyn Brown Myers; brothers, Russell Brown and Eugene Brown; and her son-in-law, Thomas Piland II.

A Celebration of Jacqueline's life will be on Saturday, November 15, 2025, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705.
