Jacqueline LeBas Obituary
Father Tom Voorhies, Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct services.
Jacqueline "Jackie" LeBas, lovingly known as Aunt Tee to so many, was born on July 8, 1928, in Ville Platte, LA to Mayor Harvey and Myrtle Bordelon LeBas. Jackie was a lifelong resident of Ville Platte and was a devout Catholic. She was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jackie attended mass daily and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Come Lord Jesus. Her faith was strong, and she raised her many nieces and nephews to believe in God's love. Jackie also strongly believed in the value of education. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and went on to get her degree in education from the Academy of Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau. She dedicated over 40 years of her life instilling the value of education in her students. She was an amazing mentor, role model and example of integrity to many. Her family and friends will miss her dearly but rejoice in knowing she is celebrated in heaven.
Jackie is survived by her brothers, Carlyle LeBas of Austin, TX, Bernard LeBas and wife, Charlotte of Ville Platte, and Peter LeBas and wife, Rachel of Ville Platte; sister, Adelaide Dupre of Opelousas; 20 nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Myrtle Bordelon LeBas; brothers, Cecil LeBas and Frankie LeBas; sister, Andrée LeBas; and sisters-in-laws, Janet LeBas, Joan LeBas, and Wylla LeBas.
At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, December 31, 2021, from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM. A rosary will be recited on Friday at 2:15 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sacred Heart School Foundation, 114 Trojan Lane, Ville Platte, LA 70586.
Family and friends may leave condolences for the family at www.ardoinfuneralhomes.com.

My deceased husband Conrad and I both enjoyed talking to Jackie when we would cross her as she walked. She was the only teacher that taught both of us-he at Mamou High School and me at Ville Platte High School. We both had fond memories of her as a favorite teacher.
