Jacqueline A. Pettiford

Jacqueline "Jackie" Talley-Pettiford, 65, of East Hartford, CT, beloved wife of William Pettiford, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. Jackie was born to the late Wilbur Talley and Gradie Macon-Talley on October 3, 1959, in Halifax County, North Carolina. She was raised in Hartford, CT and was a proud graduate of Weaver High School, class of 1980.
After high school, Jackie remained in Hartford and continued her education at Greater Hartford Community College. As a devoted CNA, Jackie poured her heart into her work. For two decades, she cared for her patients with the same compassion she shared for everyone she encountered. Jackie's life was fueled by leaving a legacy and defined by her love for family and friends.
Jackie left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her smile was infectious, and her hugs would make you melt into her arms. Though small in stature, Jackie had a very large and magnetic personality that lit up every room she entered. If you know Jackie, you know how much she loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Holidays at Jackie's were highly anticipated annual events where family and friends joined to celebrate one another, reminisce, and enjoy her famous Mac' n Cheese and collard greens.
Jackie is lovingly remembered by her husband, William Pettiford; sons: Anton Pettiford, William Pettiford, and James Dennis; stepdaughter, Shalom Clark; grandson, Branden Pettiford; brothers, Harvey Talley and Ronald Talley; sister, Stephanie Talley; and four step grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Jackie now joins her parents, Wibur and Gradie Talley, and brother Gregory Talley, in eternal peace.
