Jacqueline Wallace Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home - Downtown Chapel on Nov. 6, 2025.

Jacqueline Edwards Wallace, 101, wife of the late Clifford Noble Wallace, Jr., went to meet Jesus on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Ellen Foshee Edwards.
Jackie was the love of her mother's life and the most energetic and impish child you can imagine. After graduating from Greenville High School she attended Winthrop College for a brief time. Then World War II changed many things and it brought Jackie to Donaldson Air Force Base to work as a secretary, where she was said to have "made the typewriter smoke!" She did love a man in a uniform! After the war, she went to work for the newly formed Billy Graham Association in Charlotte, where she "smoked the typewriter" even more! Here she found where God had planned for her to work. After some time, Cliff Barrows, who was the Music Director for the Association, asked Jackie to come to Greenville to be his Executive Assistant and unofficial Nanny for his five children. She was surrounded by horses, dogs and children, the three loves of her life. During all this time, her mom, Ellen, was her constant help and support. Greenville is where Jackie set down her forever roots, teaching many Bible study groups and sharing the gospel of Jesus in her strong, colorful and undeniable way! Soon she became known to everyone as "Aunt Jackie", having friends all across the United States.
After Jackie married widower Cliff Wallace with his own adult children, she now had a family of her own. Both she and Cliff were founding members of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church where they served in numerous capacities for over 50 years. During her marriage to Cliff, she was able to enjoy dogs, goats, but especially her horse, Solomon
Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family, stepchildren, Patricia Ulmer (Rush), Cliff Wallace (Susan), Betty Blalock (Tom); cousin, Marie Tanner (Meadors); and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins across the states.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by step son Franklin Wallace (Talluah).
A public burial will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in Springwood Cemetery.
A Service to celebrate her wonderful life will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church, 207 Mitchell Rd. Greenville SC 29615, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church or to Africa Inland Mission or by mail at Box 3611 Peachtree City, Ga.30269.
To say she was incredible is only a part of what we knew about Jackie, she would say" A sinner saved by grace". Countless people would agree, but God would say, "Well done good and faithful servant!"
