Jacquelyn Sue Anderson Sherrill (August 11, 1941 - July 4, 2025)
Sue was born and raised in Camden, Arkansas. She spent her early education at Cleveland Elementary and Whiteside Junior High. At Camden High school, she was active in the band and other organizations and stayed connected to her dear friends, attending several recent class reunions. After high school, Sue headed to the University of Arkansas for fun and an English degree. While getting her BA, she was involved in several organizations including Chi Omega, Civic Club and Student Senate.
Her next adventure started in 1963 when she and a high school friend moved to New Orleans. There Sue met and married her first husband, Armond Schroeder. Their young family moved to Alaska in 1966 where they raised four children.
After thirty years of the Alaskan adventure, Sue returned home to Arkansas. She taught junior high and high school at Harmony Grove. During those years she continued traveling with her sister to the UK and beyond, before retiring to Hot Springs Village for her final adventure.
In Hot Springs Village Sue was deeply drawn to a recently formed church, All Saints Anglican. For the next two decades, Sue was very active in the church, most recently leading the Altar Guild. The All Saints friendship, worship, and fellowship were dear to her. In that community, Sue met Jack Sherrill. They married in 2011 and enjoyed nine wonderful years full of global travel and fun. She had a deep and quiet faith, and she lived that faith through her final days.
Sue always made friends easily with her special combination of quick intelligent wit and southern belle charm. She leaves behind more close friends than can be named but you know who you are.
Sue is survived by her children, Katie (Blake) Samuels, Sam (Kristin) Schroeder, Dan (Ellen) Schroeder, and Hattie (Jose) Llavina. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Javin, Sam, Alex (Marisa), Noah (Coco), Manuel, and Ella, as well as two great grandsons Alexander and Jonah. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Lindsey and much-loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Anderson and Earlie Ann Davis, her husband, Col. Jack Sherrill (ret), her brother-in-law JW Lindsey, and her nephew Mike Lindsey.
Over her life Sue lovingly parented many dogs and cats. Memorial donations to the Humane Society of Garland County or any preferred organization in her honor are deeply appreciated.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10 a.m. at All Saints Anglican Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. A reception will follow.
