Jacquelyn Ann "Jackie" Garrabrant (nee Morrison), age 90, a nine-year resident of Lisle, IL, formerly of Wilmington, DE, Bryan, OH and West Covina, CA, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Royal E. Garrabrant, and beloved son, Mark E. Garrabrant, DMA. Loving mother of Christopher (Terie) Garrabrant, PhD of Naperville, adored grandmother of Kate Garrabrant, Hayley (Dan) Sokolowski, Anne (Andrew) Basic and Todd Garrabrant, cherished great-grandmother of Danny and Dylan Sokolowski and David Basic, devoted daughter of the late Robert and Minerva Morrison, dear sister of Deborah (John) Pepe, the late Stephen (Diane) Morrison, the late Leslie (Clark) Gardner and the late Wayne "Buzzy" (Alice) Morrison, fond aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.
Jackie grew up in Wilmington, DE and attended nursing school to become a registered nurse (RN) and later received a BS in Education from California State University, Long Beach.
Jackie worked for many years as an operating room nurse at various hospitals. She retired from Rio Hondo Community College, Whittier, California, where she taught in the Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program for over 20 years.
Jackie was a member of Covina United Methodist Church and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and music, especially classical music concerts.
Services will be private.
Future inurnment: Oakdale Memorial Park, Glendora, CA.
