Jacquelyn Ann Green Johnson was born on February 22, 1945, in Ocala Florida.

"Jackie J" or "Jackie", as she was lovingly called by many who knew her, was the firstborn daughter of the late Ulysses and Annie Colyer Jacobs Green. Jackie's service and devotion to the Lord began at an early age. She was baptized at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida as a young girl and would remain an active member there throughout her youth. Later in life, her journey with the Lord would lead her to join Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, also located in Ocala, Florida

Jackie matriculated through the Marion County Public School System. She was a proud

"Wild Bull", graduating from the illustrious Howard High School in 1961. She then attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. Upon leaving FAMU, she answered the call that would become her life's work and passion; counseling troubled youth. Jackie began her career with the State of Florida, working with troubled young ladies at the Alyce D. McPherson school for girls, in Ocala, Florida. She later worked for the H.R. White Foundation in Gainesville, Florida where she provided support and guidance to troubled youth, victims of abuse, and others in need.

Jackie also worked for the Nassau County Detention Center in Fernandina Beach, Florida and later retired from the Arnette House in Ocala, Florida. Her resolute dedication and deep compassion for others made her a stand-out in her field.

Jackie was united in holy matrimony to the late Namon D. Johnson Jr.. From this union came four sons and one daughter. She also became a mother to Namon's son from a previous relationship and another young man, whom she nurtured throughout his life Her children were the pride and joy of her life. Jackie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, both of which she shared freely with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her steadfast love, strength, compassion and faith still ripple throughout the generations that she has created. Jackie was also a loving sister, always there to support, encourage and bring a smile or a laugh to her siblings.

Jackie had a smile that could light up even the darkest of rooms. Her unwavering faith, resilience and perseverance carried her through life's toughest challenges with grace and poise. Jackie's loving spirit is unmatched and will forever be missed

Jackie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and unconditional love. Though she is no longer here, her love still surrounds us and she will forever live in the hearts of her loving daughter: Latonja Johnson Hagins; loving and attentive sons:

Namon Darryl Johnson (Traci), Victor L. Johnson (Linda), Michael Johnson, Todd L.

Johnson (Luvenia), Curtis Mitchell (Mary), Terry Hosley (Shirley). Jackie also leaves behind a loving and devoted brother and sister: Stine Fulton (Elizabeth) and Beatrice Grant (James); her grandchildren: Jemarall Richards, Everette Way, Deion Laird, Tatiana Johnson; her great grandchildren: Janiaha Richards and Olivia Way; one niece:

Tracey Fulton; two nephews: Winton Williams and Latori Fulton (April); dedicated cousins: Tarri Harris, Kevin Neal, and Pamela Wortham; and a host of other loving, loyal and supportive relatives and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I met Miss Jackie about 30 years ago, when I was a very young and naive DC worker for the Arnette House. This woman was a second mom to me. She listened to my (ridiculous) relationship woes, and offered such wisdom in so many areas of my life and work. She was my mentor and I loved her dearly. I am so sorry I was unable to reconnect with her in recent years. (I just found out yesterday, or I would have attended her service.) God has her now, and what passion she has, no doubt, brought with her to meet Him! I hope there´s a disco there, Miss Jackie, and that you get to dance with Barry White.
Until we meet again...
