Jacquelynn Mary Register

Jacquelynn Marie Rome Register, 85, of Monticello, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Big Bend Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House.
Jackie was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on January 26, 1940, to Marie and Vernon Rome.
After graduating High School at the age of 18, her family moved to Titusville, Florida. She was employed by the General Telephone Company as a telephone operator.
She met and married her love, Ted Register, of Graceville, Florida, on November 8, 1958, in Titusville. They later moved to Monticello, Florida, in 1963, where she became the wife of the infamous town barber until Ted's retirement in 2013. Jackie and family regularly attended The First United Methodist Church of Monticello, where she sang in the choir for many years and served as the church secretary for several years. She was a school bus driver for Aucilla Christian Academy for what seemed like forever. She was also a volunteer for Big Bend Hospice for over 10 years.
Jackie was blessed and truly made the world a better place as she is survived by their four children, Steven (Bear) Register, of Monticello, Florida, Lori Register Norris (Jerry Norris), of Clayton, North Carolina, Missy Register Carpenter (Kevin Carpenter), of Dalton, Pennsylvania, and Mary Lynn Register Goff, of Sneads, Florida. They have 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a younger brother, Vernon Rome, Jr. (Ricky), of Titusville, Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, in 2017. They had been married 59 years. Jackie was also preceded by her brother, Richard and his wife Marlene Rome, of Titusville, Florida, in 2014, her sister, Sandra Youngblood, of Titusville, Florida, in 2016, daughter-in-law, Dianne Branch Register, of Monticello, Florida, in 2023, and son- in-law, David Goff, of Sneads, Florida, in 2023.
A Memorial Service will be held at The First United Methodist Church in Monticello, Florida, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made online or mailed to Big Bend Hospice (1723 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, Fl 32308).
