Elbert D. Hartsfield

Elbert D. Hartsfield, 70, entered into Heaven on October 17, 2025, after an extended illness.
Elbert was preceded in death by his parents, Lem and Margie Hartsfield.
Elbert had a gift for making people laugh and telling a story like no one else could. He loved sharing real-life adventures from his childhood, growing up with his ten brothers and sisters on the banks of the Aucilla River at Nutall Rise. Life there was far from easy, but it shaped who he was - strong, resourceful, and full of grit. Hunting and fishing weren't just pastimes, they were part of daily life. Elbert mastered the outdoors and took pride in teaching those same skills and traditions to the next generation, whether they were family by blood or by heart.
Elbert lived fiercely and unapologetically. He embraced life on his own terms with strength, humor, and an unwavering love for the people who mattered most to him. More than anything else, Elbert loved his family with everything he had. Being Becky's dad was the greatest joy of his life. Their bond was something truly special - strong, unbreakable, and everlasting. Even Heaven's gates can't separate that kind of love.
Elbert is survived by his loving daughter, Becky Branch (Chris) of Monticello; his cherished granddaughter, Madison Branch of Cairo, GA; and Becky's mother, Debbie Hartsfield of Monticello. He also leaves behind many family members and friends who will forever remember his laughter, his stories, and the love he shared so freely.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 11 am in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello, Florida, with visitation beginning at 10 am. Elbert will be laid to rest at Walker Cemetery in Lamont, Florida.
