Jade Thomas Riley Wilcox, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, was born on April 9, 1996, in Angola, Indiana to Tara Childress, James Wilcox and (Angela), they survive. Tragically, he departed this world on January 26, 2025. Jade left behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering support for those who knew him.
Jade's work ethic was truly remarkable. Over the span of his career, he dedicated three years to Warner Electric in Columbia City, where he immersed himself in the machining trade, cultivating a passion for automation that would define his professional journey. Most recently, he thrived as a CNC programmer at Flexible Concepts in Elkhart for the last four years. Jade's colleagues admired him for his larger-than-life personality, strong will, and infectious smile. He had a unique ability to make even the most mundane workdays enjoyable, filling the air with laughter and joy. His commitment to helping others shone through, as he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and treated all those around him like family.
Jade was more than a hardworking individual; he was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Miranda Wilcox, and their precious children, Kali and Riley Wilcox. Jade shared a deep bond with his grandmothers, Nanny, Karen Wilcox, and Grandma Bo, who always held a special place in his heart. He cherished his relationships with his in-laws, Jim Dailey, Tina and David Werblo; and was a proud brother to Karlee (JC) Miller, Sam, Matt (Mariah Serrano), Payton, and Kayla Wilcox. Jade's love extended to many siblings by heart, including Koty Carnahan, Brad (Ciara), Brian (Karisa), Brett (Krista), and Rebecca Werblo, along with Shawn and Jamie (Tara) Dailey. Even among friends, he was seen as a brother, with many standing alongside him through thick and thin, such as Josh Baker, Mark Rhodes, Casey Binder, David Casey, Tyler Howe, Jacob German, Nathan Minnes, and Ben and Gavin Wilcox.
Outside of his professional life, Jade had an insatiable passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, and was known for his athleticism, especially his love for wrestling and playing various sports. He preferred the thrill of participation over mere observation, often saying, "Pitter patter lets get at er," embodying his spirited approach to life.
In memory of Jade, visitation will be held on February 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 4:00 PM at Mc Gann Hay Granger Chapel, located at 13260 State Road 23, Granger, Indiana.
Jade Thomas Riley Wilcox may no longer walk among us, but his legacy of compassion, humor, and selflessness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues, as they navigate a world that feels a little dimmer without his radiant presence.
A scholarship fund is being set up for Jade's children, Kali and Riley, so please make donations to the Wilcox family.
