Jaime is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Aida; his loving children, Janet (John) Castillo, Jason (Xi Chen) Abril, and James (Heather) Abril; his adored grandchildren, Ethan Castillo, Zoe Castillo, Anabelle Abril and Avaleigh Abril; his siblings, Adelisa (the late Umakant) Patel, Ofelia (Feliciadado) Pugeda, Amor (the late Angelito) Cruz, Wilma Abril, Maida (Macario) Virina, Edwin (Iluminada) Abril, and Dennis (Edna) Abril; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Solenciario and Nemesia Abril.
Jimmy was born on December 10, 1948 in Laguna, Philippines. He was a proud graduate of Mapua Institute of Technology. He was a talented Mechanical Engineer and enjoyed his work throughout his life. In his free time Jaime loved to go fishing, listening to music, dancing and going out for a good time. He and Aida were blessed to have been able to travel the world and experience its wonders.
Jimmy was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also proud to be a member of the Masons. He was an active member and former Vice-President of the PLFI (Pamanang Lahi Foundation).
Jaime loved his family deeply. He was lovingly known as "Mamay" to his grandchildren and he treasured every moment spent with them. He will be missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 10, 4:00-8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11, 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 2220 Lisson Rd., Naperville. Interment will be private.
