Jakai is survived by his mother Serena Mackie; father De'Quan Smith; grandma Pamela Mackie; grandpa Scott Mackie; great grandparents, Donald McAlvey and Ronald and Shelley Mackie; aunt Samantha (Trever Gordon) Mackie, uncle Preston Mackie, aunt Nylah Smith, aunt Rora Stiles, aunt Nicole Vergeson, and aunt Amelia Diaz; brother Giovanni Sanchez; god mother Jaciahna Whitt. He is preceded in death by his great grandma Marlene McAlvey, great grandma Jackie Baker, and cousin Tomaz Shessia.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 –1:00 p.m. at Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge.
