James Russell Adamson

James Russell Adamson was born on September 6, 1968, to Peggy Jo Smith Allen and James Kay Adamson in Irving, Texas. He rode the wing of a dove to his heavenly home on April 4, 2025.
Gifted with blond hair and blue eyes his Great Aunt Jo nicknamed him, "Cotton Top." He was quite the charmer with his sweet smile but definitely had an adventurous and sometimes mischievous personality. Like most little boys, he enjoyed his days wearing his cowboy boots and being outdoors. He had a passion for dogs and motorcycles.
Russell graduated from Bokchito High School in 1986. He participated in basketball, FFA and woodworking. Following high school, he became a truck driver running short and long hauls for various companies often stopping to visit family and friends along the way. He became an avid reader of western and mystery novels with favorite authors being Louis L 'Amour and James Patterson. He enjoyed watching old westerns on TV and sipping on Coke Zero.
Russell was a Christian who recently rededicated his life to the Lord. He was a proud member of the Cornerstone Chapel in Durant, Ok. He had a big heart and often felt led to help others in securing what they needed. He drove several friends to their medical appointments and treatments. He had great pride in his daughter Kirsti Adamson and grandchildren Grayson, Jaxson and Zaylee.
Russell was preceded in death by his father and grandparents: David "Doc" and Avis Ray Smith. He is survived by his daughter Kirsti and spouse Jason Hardencourt, grandchildren Grayson Nunez, Jaxson and Zaylee Hardencourt of Graford, Texas. He is also survived by his mother Peggy of Bokchito, Ok., sisters Lisa Jestis of Bokchito, Ok., Teresa Patterson of Athens, Texas., special aunt Luana Smith of Durant, Ok., several more aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends.
