James Stanley Addair, Jr., age 79, of North Tazewell, VA, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 in a Johnson City, TN V.A. Hospital.
He was born on December 29, 1944, in Iaegar, WV, to the late James Lundy Addair and Katherine Stanley Addair. He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army. He was a resident of the area for most of his life. He was a retired coal miner and had also worked as a custodian for the Tazewell County Public School System. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Addair; son, Tony Addair; and brother, Johnny Addair.
James is survived by:
Son, James Stanley Addair, Jr., of Bristol, TN
Daughter, Shonna Addair and fiancée, Cameron Oty, of Concord, NC
Sister, Lori Hobson of Bristol, TN
Brother, Tommy Addair of Hickory Tree, TN
Grandchildren:
Savannah Bullington and husband, Brandon
Santana Addair and fiancée, Chaz Johnson
Dakota Addair and wife, Kathlene
Christopher Whittaker and partner, AnnAlyse Garver
Great-Grandchildren:
Emma Joe, Tyler, Dawson, Jordan, Rileigh, Mack, Wyatt, Charles, Sterling
He is also survived by several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services for James Stanley Addair, Sr. will be conducted Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Ronnie Hess officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Relatives and Friends will serve as pallbearers Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct Military graveside rites. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands is in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com
