James Michael Agger (Ags) of Churchville PA, passed away on January 25th, 2026, at U of Penn Hospital after a heroic battle with cardiac issues.
Born June 19,1962, he was the loving, adoring husband to wife Patrice (nee Parrott) for over 38 years. A dedicated and loving father to daughter, Elizabeth Montalvo (Justin) and best friend to son Murphy Patrick. Loyal brother of Jack (Maureen), Dennis (Janet), Eileen, and Brian (Chris). Grandfather to Havana and Allegra, beloved and fun Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Great friend and brother-in-law of Paul Parrott (Greg), Peter Parrott (Claudette).
Jim is predeceased by and joined with his parents, Jack and Anne, his father and mother-in-law Robert and Dorothy Parrott, sister-in-law Denise Gilbert (Robert), and brother-in-law Robert Parrott (Gary).
Ags graduated with a BS in Physics from La Salle University in 1984. He was a respected and accomplished USPS Postmaster for 40 years.
To say that Ags was funny would be an understatement. With his quick wit and artful sarcasm, it was a true honor to be on the receiving end of his razzing. He could riff on a joke all night, each iteration becoming progressively funnier.
A massive sports fan, Jim loved his Philadelphia teams – all of them! But he had a special place in his heart for The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and, influenced by his son Murphy Patrick, Manchester City Football Club.
For Jim, giving his all in everything he did was second nature and he did it effortlessly – as a husband, father, uncle, Postmaster, neighbor, softball coach, volunteer, and friend.
Jim was a steady and generous volunteer at Mother of Mercy House in Kensington, and alongside his wife, Patrice, played an important role in helping a new program for unhoused people get off the ground. He showed up not out of obligation, but from a deep belief in dignity, community, and hope. Volunteering with genuine joy, he offered his time and heart in quiet but essential ways - making participants feel truly welcome and lifting the spirits of everyone on the team.
Jim will truly be missed by everyone whose life he has touched.
Jim's family will receive friends at St Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road,
Holland, PA on Saturday February 7, 2026, from 10:30AM followed by a Mass at Noon. His internment will take place privately at a later date.
Donations in Jim's honor can be made to Mother of Mercy House at https://motherofmercyhouse.org/ and would be gratefully appreciated.
