James Louis Alexander, of Somers, NY entered into rest on December 7, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side, he was 92 years old.
He was born to his late parents Albert and Margaret (Nardelli) Alexander on June 15, 1933 in the Bronx, NY.
After an incredible romance he married the love of his life Florentina (Barrios) on August 22, 1986 in Pawling, NY. They met by chance on a trip he had taken to Panama and their romance was undeniable and blossomed into a nearly fifty-year love story. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and mutual devotion.
James is survived by his beloved wife Tina, and his loving nieces and nephews Michele Pizzuto and her husband Alfred, Richard Alexander and his wife Monica, Ronald Alexander and his wife Fan, Brian Alexander and Frank Alexander. He is predeceased by his nephews Glen Mahnken and John Mahnken while their wives, Linda and Darlene, also survive him.
His life was also touched by the loss of his three siblings, Fannie, Joseph, and Frank, as well as his niece Phyllis, who all predeceased him.
James was fondly known to his family as the "Mook" a name given to his by his brother Frank, which stuck with James his entire life.
After graduating High School James enlisted in the United States Navy, he was extremely proud of his time in service. He was a self-employed Carpenter and retired in 1995.
Mook was a Firefighter for Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. He led a very active life, he was an avid Golfer and enjoyed Softball, Fishing, Bowling and skiing. In his leisure time, James could often be found watching "Family Feud" or outings with his nephew Alfred to the casino, where they shared many laughs over the slot machines. These simple pleasures brought him immense joy and offered cherished moments with family and friends. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
