I first met JB through his son, Mike on a fishing trip to Sixth Pass in Mexico about 50 miles south of Matamoras on the coast about 1989.
We wade fished for redfish and trout in the surf, riding in a huge World War II amphibious vehicle that the Mexicans called the machine as we rode up and down the coast and floated through gulf passes for four days.
Many fish were caught and much camaraderie was shared.
JB had brought his friends some of whom relived their World War II experiences In dreams as the rest of us tried to sleep and Mike had brought his friends from the DA´s Office including me.
We all had a wonderful time together and I could tell JB was well loved by all who knew him, and I was privileged through the years to become a friend of his and his family.
Rest in peace, JB

J. B. and I taught Sunday School together at the First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena. He later hired me as a 6th grade teacher in Pearland. He was my first boss and my friend. I was always thankful that he was my first principal. He told me once that a good leader had a great staff and I certainly found that to be true. Roly and I send our thoughts and prayers to Jan and Devon and their families at this difficult time.
