Obituary of James E. Andrews, Sr.
James E. Andrews, Sr. passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 17, 2024. He was 89 years old. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 2 PM, 240 West Juniper Creek Road, Byron, GA 31008.
James was born in Sandersville, Georgia to the late James F. Andrews and Bertha Happoldt Andrews on June 6, 1934. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Andrews Hunt. James served his country proudly for 21 years in the United States Air Force. He then continued to serve as a civil servant in sheet metal maintenance for an additional 20 years. James loved his country but more importantly he loved his family. He could always be counted on to lend a hand when you were in need and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Carole Beam Andrews; children: Tammy Andrews, James E. (Darlene) Andrews, Jr., and Melinda Burrows; grandchildren: Shana Roberson, Dana Powell, Dustin Andrews, Kourtney Blickensdorfer, Mickey Burrows, Amanda Hunt, and Chris Hunt; 6 great grandchildren; sisters: Ellen Irene Anderson and Sandi Blair, and a host of extended friends and family.
