James Milum "Jim" Arnold, 83, of Georgetown, Kentucky passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky.
Jim was born August 9, 1942, in Drakesboro, Kentucky to Charles Arnold and Louise Arnold Fowler. He was one of 15 children, with 7 sisters, 1 brother, 3 half-brothers and 3 half-sisters. During his childhood he attended school in Central City, with his family eventually moving to Owensboro. He married Burnice Martine Scott in Echols in 1962. They welcomed two children, Kathy Lueverne in 1963 and James Neal in 1965.
In Jim's early years he worked at Houchens grocery store in Beaver Dam and Ernie Davis Plumbing in Owensboro. In the late 70's he moved to Arizona, where he worked in various mines. He returned to Kentucky in the early 90's and eventually settled in Georgetown where he lived until his passing.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters,1 brother, 3 half-brothers, and 3 half-sisters. He is survived by son James (Alyson) Harris of Georgetown, daughter Kathy Morris of Beaver Dam, and sister Brenda Bidwell of Owensboro. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Jim had a bright smile and charming manner. His laugh-especially when he was truly tickled-was one of his most memorable qualities. To his grandchildren, he was Papaw Jim-someone who adored them and the bond they shared holds a very special place in their hearts. He was truly special, and his absence will be felt by all who loved him.
A private memorial and burial will be held in Morgantown, Kentucky at a later time.
