It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joy Elaine (Clegg) Arnold, loving mother, beloved grandmother and dedicated nurse. Joy was 76 and born in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Edwin and Rosaline Clegg. She graduated from Zanesville High school in 1967 and was a proud OU Bobcat graduate. Joy passed away on November 15, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She is survived by her devoted and fiercely committed husband of 55 years, Tim Arnold, as well as her two children Todd (Michelle) Arnold, and Jill (Kevin Jr.) Martin, four cherished grandchildren, Samantha (14), Kendall (11), Anna (9) and Savannah (4), and her sister/best friend Jane (Rick) Luman, sister in law Tammy (Doug) Vinsel, brother in law Tom (Peggy) Arnold, sister in laws Cindy and Connie Clegg and many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.

Joy was preceded in death by her older brothers Edwin (Jeff) Clegg, and Richard and Sarah Clegg, as well as her brother in law Doug Vinsel.

Joy gave her life to service by being a proud RN-C for over 30 years, working in both hospital and private settings, but she really enjoyed public health, where she finished her career at Muskingum Valley Health working with Dr. Tiberio. Joy was a proud committee chair for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Zanesville, in addition to being a committee member for several years prior. She loved life and enjoyed being around her family more than anything. She lived for her granddaughters and couldn't wait to spend every moment she could reading, singing, and playing with them. She loved Jesus and started every morning with her devotions, always looking for more knowledge. This was true with all things she loved. She couldn’t learn enough. She was an avid reader and would barely be seen around the house without a book. Joy’s greatest joy was family and baking her much requested cupcakes and about just anything. Her granddaughters loved to help, but mostly to eat.

There will be no funeral services at the time but a Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
