James Askins

James (Jim) Askins passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 80 on Sunday June 9, 2024. Jim enjoyed life with his family. He enjoyed vacationing, loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard and property. However, Jim's greatest love in life was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Sarah (Snyder) Askins and one brother John (Sonny) Askins.
Jim was passionate about his business. He owned Action Auto Sales from 1979-2004 and Mothers Auto Parts from 1988 – 2010. The family currently owns Auto Express Kia, Off-Road Express, Auto Express Alfa Romeo Fiat and Auto Express Mazda. Throughout his life, Jim has impacted so many lives and his legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren and businesses. He was also active in the community, making contributions to many charitable events.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth (Bizzarro) Askins; their children, Joseph Askins and his wife Tina of Summit Twp., Ernie Askins and Jennie Askins, both of Millcreek Twp.; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Jimmy, Lexi, Joseph, Nicholas, Viviana and Abriana. Jim is further survived by his siblings, Ernie, George, Bill, Gary, Tom, Mary Lou, Janet, Patty, Lisa, Debbie, Joanie and their spouses along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. on Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM and are invited to a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM on Friday morning at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
