The funeral service for James W. Bailey, 71, of Jacksonville, will be held 12:00 pm, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at K.L. Brown Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Rev. Daniel McGathy officiating. Burial will follow at West Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Bailey passed away on Monday morning at his residence. He is preceded in death by his wife Janice Bailey; son, Kenny Bailey; granddaughter, Kelly Bailey and Julieanna Culver; parents, George and Frances Bailey.
Mr. Bailey worked at Union Yawn Mill for over 20 years. Everyone that knew Mr. Bailey knew that he loved to piddle, especially with old cars. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his children, Jennifer Bailey and Stephen Bailey (Allison); stepchildren, Jamie Anthony (Adelyn) and Shannon Finley (Keith); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Pam Bailey, Diana Bailey, and Wendy Christopher; brothers, Bruce Bailey, Vincent Bailey, Lynn Bailey, and Aaron Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bailey, Eric Bailey, Adan Culver, Cory Bailey, Bruce Bailey, and Rodney.
