A memorial service for James Robert Baker will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. An inurnment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Steve Baker.
James was born on September 26, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana and passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After graduation from Northwood High School, he entered the United States Navy where he was enlisted for four years. He enjoyed CB radios, hunting, fishing, woodworking and cabinetry. He was a simple man who enjoyed simple things. To know him was to love him and he will be truly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara Rambin and Clenton H. Rambin, Sr.. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Ann Skyrme and husband, Greg; brother, Steve Baker and wife, Renee; nieces, Rebecca Galambos and husband, Chris, Kristen Barnes and husband, Brad, Morgan Pickard and husband, Keith, Lauren Ougel and husband, Jonathan, Misty Lee and husband, Dusty, Candie Galloway and husband, Jerome, and Jacque Wilemon and husband, Toby; nephews, Ryan Skyrme and Jackson Baker and Hannah; great-nieces, Ava, Kynlee, Emerson, Presley, Aurora, Brittany, Lindsey, Tiffany and Tinsley; great-nephews, Crew, Easton, Christopher and Layne and numerous cousins.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Louka and his nurse, Hannah, at Willis Knighton North for their care and compassion.
