James "Jim" B. Baughn, 84, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the University Heights Health and Living Community Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jim was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 31, 1940 to Earl McPhearson Baughn and Dorothy Harriett (Keply) Baughn. He was a 1958 graduate of Spencer High School, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy and then attended Purdue University. Jim was a computer programmer for I.B.M, General Electric and Eli Lilly, having retired in 2010. Jim was a Ham Radio operator, since 1956, K9EOH, and enjoyed telescope-astronomy and politics.
Jim is survived by his wife, Winnie Kay Baughn, whom he married on July 8, 1962, his children, Cheryl Kay (Isaac "Ike") Hoagland, David B. (Andrea "Andi") Baughn, grandchildren, Dawson Gene (Samantha) Baughn, Teagan Grace Baughn, siblings, John Mack (Pamela "Pam") Baughn, nieces and nephews, Joel, Brandt, Kari, Bryce and extended family members and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Sue Baughn-McKittrick.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Spencer Church of Christ, 702 East Morgan Street, Spencer, Indiana 47460. Gary Fiscus will officiate. Burial will follow in Fiscus Cemetery in Owen County.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until time of service, at the church.
