James A. Belcher Jr. (81), passed away on July 12, 2024. He was born on October 4, 1942, to James A. Belcher Sr. and Mary E. (Moore) Belcher in Provo, Kentucky.
Jim was a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Jim was known for his passion for 50s and 80s music, his love for watching NCIS, and his dedication to staying current with the latest news and internet searches. Jim enjoyed watching NASCAR, and watching football, basketball, and golf. He also enjoyed traveling to visit his family in California. Jim was known for his vibrant storytelling and infectious humor, bringing joy and laughter to all. Jim's kindness and genuine interest in the world around him touched the lives of many. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and friendship. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jim is survived by his children Kim Schlachter, Tracy (Jim) Arain, Randy Belcher; grandchildren Jahan Arain, Shah Arain, Beth Vu, Laura Schlachter, Jimmy Schlachter; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Liam; siblings Virginia "Tenny" Mayo, Ray Belcher, and Carolyn Wuertz; longtime companion Tonya Gootee; dog Lacey; and numerous extended family.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Sandy Belcher and son Larry Belcher.
A Memorial Service for Jim will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 from 3-5pm at Sunset Funeral Home.

I don't know if we are related. My father (Clifford) had a brother who lived in Evansville named Willy Belcher. The photo and description of James' personality matches that if my family here in Owensboro and Butler County, KY. Related or not, I offer my sincere sorrow for your loss and wish you the best during this time of sorry.
