James Franklin "Jim" Billhimer

James Franklin Billhimer, 64, of Broadway passed away December 12, 2025 after a courageous eleven year battle with cancer at the Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA.

He was born January 31, 1961 in Bergton to the late Roy Oliver and Charlotte Kline Billhimer.
Jim was a 1979 graduate of Broadway High School where he excelled academically and participated in athletics where many long lasting friendships were created. He would go on to play football at Bridgewater College, where his 1980 football team was inducted into the Bridgewater Hall of Fame in 2025. Jim graduated from the George W. Woodruff Mechanical Engineering School at Georgia Tech and became a member of the Georgia Tech Alumni Network in Columbus, GA where he served in various roles throughout the years. Jim spent his 34 year career at Pratt & Whitney as a quality engineer before retiring

He is survived by spouse Vickie Swafford Billhimer and beloved Yorkie Paisley Grace.

Also surviving are his brother, Tom Billhimer and wife Marilee; sisters, Susan Phillips and husband Mike, Kay White and husband Brad all of Broadway; nieces, Laura Fike and husband Jared, Erin Kirtley, Katelyn White; Nephew, John Billhimer.

Pastor Scott Showalter will conduct a funeral service at 2:00P.M. Friday at the Cedar Run Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
