James "Junior" Samuel Boyd, Jr., age 75 of Pounding Mill, Virginia has found eternal rest, God saw he was getting tired, and the road was getting rough and hills hard to climb, so he called him home on Friday, November 5, 2021.
Junior was born on June 24, 1946, in Buchanan County, Virginia and was the son of the late James Samuel Boyd, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Keene Boyd. He had attended Whitewood High School and enlisted in U.S. navy during the Vietnam conflict. He was a proud member of the Casey-Short VFW Post# 9640. Junior mastered the trade of being a heavy equipment operator and a crane operator. He worked for Dana Construction and C.J. Horn Hauling for many years before retiring. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter, golfer, and bowler. He was a kind man and could always make you laugh. He was a lifetime resident of the surrounding area.
In addition to his parent's, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Starlin White and Hubert Arlin White.
Those that remain to carry on his spirit are his loving wife, Mary Hickman Boyd of Pounding Mill, VA
His devoted son, Jamie Boyd and wife, Christy of Pounding Mill, VA
His sisters:
Naomi Horn of Claypool Hill, VA
Mable Horn of San Antonia, TX
Brother, James Earl Boyd and wife, Jane of Richlands, VA
