James R. Brantner, age 93, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. He was born March 20, 1929, to James R. and Louise (nee Turek) Brantner, Sr. in Parma, Ohio. James served his country in the US Army being engaged in the Korean War. After the military, his career began at the Cadillac Tank Plant and further developed to General Motors in machine repair for 35 years. James was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Medina as a 32nd degree Mason. He was an avid gardener, loved traveling and was known to be able to fix anything.
Left to celebrate James' life are his loving daughters Denise (Dale) Laux and Ann (Steve) Quinlan: beloved grandchildren: Lisa Newton, David Laux, Kevin Laux, Sam Greif, Ryan Quinlan, and Shyla Quinlan: cherished great grandchildren: Caroline Greif, Madison Greif, James Laux, and Jacob Laux; brother-in-law, Doug Meek; sister-in-law, Beth White. James is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan, five siblings and his parents.
Family will welcome friends for a graveside service on Friday, September 9th at 11:00 AM at the Bennett's Corners Cemetery located on W 130th in Hinckley, across from the Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences and memories may be left for the family on James' guestbook at www.WaiteFuneralHome.com.
