In loving memory of James "Jim" Dexter Brickell, the son of James Harrison and Gertrude, born in Houston, Texas on September 21st, 1939, who peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, February 5th.
He was a devoted husband of 62 years, cherished father to three children - two daughters and a son. A distinguished Air Force aviator and proud alumnus of the University of Mississippi, he bravely served his country during the Vietnam War, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross. His 20 years of military service led him to various corners of the world, but it was in Florida where he found solace and embarked on a fulfilling second career as a land rights agent.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, he found joy on the golf course where he spent countless hours perfecting his game and forging lasting friendships. He proudly shot his age of 71 in June of 2010. His legacy of courage, dedication, witty humor, and love will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan, sister Beverly, children Donna, Karen and Scott, as well as his grandchildren Willa Dare, Ava, Hayes, Max, Annabelle, Lillie, and Dexter, and a community of friends who will deeply miss his presence. Though he may be gone, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us always.
