Teddy Ray Brickell, age 73, of Mount Airy (Pine Ridge), passed away Monday afternoon, December 30, 2024, at Village Care of King. He was born in Surry County on May 18, 1951, to the late Rufus Thomas “RT” Brickell and Mable Alene Amburn Brickell. Teddy was a loving friend, grandfather and sibling; he’ll be deeply missed. He was a great mechanic and a long-time truck driver. Teddy is survived by his partner of 35 years, Judy Bingman; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Brickell and wife, Robin; stepson and daughter-in-law, Jerry Bingman and wife Penny; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two special granddaughters, Ashley Bingman and Madyson Holder and husband, Nate; sister, Teresa Brickell and partner, Denise Stanfield; his fur baby “Tink”; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Teddy was preceded in death by his sister, Bonita Hull; and brother, Tommy Brickell. A celebration of Teddys’ life will be held Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 2 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with Preacher Charlie Newman officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 12:30 PM until the time of the service. A burial will follow in Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Brickell family.
