Memorial Services celebrating the life of Mr. James Michael “Mike” Brown, 65, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Bro. Chad Ballard officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service on Saturday.
Mr. Brown was born on July 29, 1958 in Houma, LA, and passed away at his residence in West Monroe, LA, on April 27, 2024.
Mike was a member of Cypress Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, and was also a graduate of West Monroe High School in 1976, where he was very active in their class and was an active alumni participant. Mike devoted his entire life to his family. He helped his son, Daniel launch his Carco business in 2017. He enjoyed camping, football games, and boy scouts. Mike was an avid reader and movie enthusiast, specifically, science fiction, comic books, and history. Mike was the kind of man who was always in good spirits and always had a joke to tell. He was also an animal lover, especially dogs.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James Maxwell and Nannette Owens Brown; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Winnie Moss; granddaughter, Madeline Claire Brown; maternal grandparents, Dwight and Ethel Owens; and his paternal grandparents, Howard and Ina Brown.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Emily Brown; sons, Joshua Brown and Daniel Brown and wife, Heather; grandsons, Cade and Cameron Brown; step-mother, Margie Brown; sister, Lori Roberts and husband, Jerry; brothers, Steve Brown and Kenny Brown and wife, Casey; a host of nieces and nephews; and his loving dogs, Maddie and Red.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to the local animal shelter.
