We invite you to join us in honoring the life of this extraordinary man, who taught us all the meaning of love, kindness, and joy.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful departure of James Edward Bundy, Sr. aka Howard, Bull, Big Guuuy, Little Jim & Pop-Pop. Howard was born on April 24, 1948, in
Camden, New Jersey to the late Louise Hence Braxton & Larry Miller. He was called home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2025.
He is predeceased by 3 sisters... Nancy Phillips, Luvenia Braxton & Clara Harris. 3 brothers...Joseph Braxton, John Bundy & Milton Bundy. He was also predeceased by his grandson Brandon L. Muse (NUBBS).
Howard graduated from Woodbury Jr./Sr. High School in 1966. He had a passion for baseball & played on the varsity team. He was also the star of the Woodbury High School basketball team where he was All Gloucester County & All Colonial Conference. During his freshman year he met his high school sweetheart, Patricia Petrose (CHINK) & they later married & he became the one & only LOVE of her life (56 years) & his love for her was unconditional. From this union, 3 wonderful children were born, Pamela (Turkey), Brian (Bree-Caz) & James, Jr. (Jimmer) whom he loved wholeheartedly.
Howard was employed by Del Monte (which later became Crown, Cork & Seal) as a forklift operator for 30+ years leaving there & later retiring. Later in life, Howard accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior & was baptized at North Baptist Church.
Howard was a people person & very outspoken with a remarkable sense of humor. To know him was to love him!! He was an outstanding man & pillar of his community (M4L) that would stand in as a father figure for anyone who needed him. He loved shooting pool & pitching horse shoes. He was most passionate about his Philly teams...E-A-G-L-E-S, Phillies & the 76ers. The fastest way to make him angry was to down talk his teams, especially his E-A-G-L-E-S. He also loved the sport of softball & played for a local team, The Astro Travelers. FACT - As a leftie, you could ALWAYS count on him to hit a homerun over Carpenter Street School.
Howard had an unbreakable bond with his 1st grandson, Brandon L. Muse who departed this life on 3/17/21 & he was forever broken.
ACKNOWLEDGING SPECIAL RELATIONSHIPS & FRIENDSHIPS:
DWAYNE T. PETROSE - The love was real. In your own words, "He was my 1st best friend". The endless heart to hearts & the way that you & Wanda were always a phone call away, he was forever grateful.
TERRY HOLMES - Who better to share his birthday with but his God son. Even miles away, you never forgot his day & every year he looked forward to hearing from you. Your bond was inevitable from the beginning because of the special bond he had with your mom, Diane Washington. It was Charlie & his Angels (Diane & Kit).
NATHAN JOHNSON, JR. -Although y'all did not always see eye to eye (lol), I'm sure you know how much you meant to Howard & I'm sure if he could, he would thank you from the bottom of his heart. You were his friend, his buddy & always came whenever he called, no questions asked. He loved you for that.
GREGORY WASHINGTON - A true friendship for 50+ years. His partner in crime. The countless visits & time spent would be the highlight of his weekends. WOODBURY STRONG.
THOMAS L. WESCOTT (WES) - What you did daily came from the heart & was truly appreciated. You stepped up & helped Howard & Chink when he couldn't. From shoveling snow to carrying in packages. The best neighbor a guy could ask for!
Howard leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Patricia Bundy, daughter, Pamela Bundy, sons, Brian Bundy(Leslie) & James Bundy, Jr.(Jackie), 7 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren & a host of neices, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends.
Lovingly Submitted,
The Bundy Family
