James Arthur Burgess, Jr., “Chuckey” as he was affectionately called was born July 20, 1971 to Mrs. Annie M. Profit Burgess and the late Deacon James Arthur Burgess, Sr. in Florence, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
James attended Florence County Public Schools.
James loved painting, doing construction and carpentry work.
James was preceded in death by his father Deacon James Arthur Burgess, Sr.; and a nephew, Julian Cornelius Thomas, Jr.
James leaves to cherish his memories are his loving mother, Annie M. Profit Burgess; a daughter, Brittany Brailey of Atlanta, Georgia; a son, Raheem Brailey of Columbia, South Carolina; three brothers, Michael Burgess and Tyrone Burgess both of Florence, South Carolina, and Lorenzo (Julia) Burgess of Charlotte, North Carolina; four sisters, Barbara Williams-Thomas (Bennie) of Austell, Georgia, Sharon (Angelo) Barksdale and Rachel (Malik) Simmons both of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Rochelle (Terrell) Lane of Darlington, South Carolina; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousin, and friends.
The family will receive friends daily from 5 PM - 8 PM at 2971 Republic Avenue, Lot 34 , Florence,SC. Please wear a mask.
