James E. Burns, 83, of Delafield, WI passed away on April 4, 2025, after a heroic fight with cancer. He was born on March 21, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI.
James taught in the Milwaukee Public School system for 33 years. He was a dedicated teacher, who helped guide many young people on their educational journey. In addition, he had an affinity for art. Many of his paintings and sculptures were quite impressive.
Those left to mourn his passing are many, but he holds a very special place in the hearts of his sons, Jim C. (Sarah) and Dave (Jenni). He also leaves behind five beautiful grandchildren, Amelia, Caroline, Eliza, Hadley and Graham. James was also a loving and fun Godfather to Bonnie (Matt) Czarnik. He was a wonderful brother to Patricia Burns, Colleen (Michael) Degner and Rose (Allen) Locander. Many other relatives and friends join in mourning his passing.
James was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Emily Burns as well as his brother, Robert.
We will miss his wry humor, kindness, artistry and the love he shared with us all. His is an example of a life well and truly lived.
